Investment Advisory Committee

The Lachesis Investment Advisory Committee (IAC) provides strategic input to the Fund and ensure that proposed investments comply with the fund guidelines and policies.

The IAC is Chaired by Professor William Dawson (Bionet Ltd), and comprises Mr Peter Le Noury (), Mr Jonthan Lowe (emda), Dr Keith Martin (Apitope), Mr Rob Carroll (Catapult) and two rotating University representatives.

University Group

The University Group (UG) comprises the Heads of Technology Transfer from each University, along with the Fund Managers and the Lachesis Operations team. The UG meets monthly and approves pathfinder applications, and oversees much of the ongoing activity of the Fund. The current members of the UG are:

Fund Management

Spark Venture Management ('Spark'), a company regulated by the Financial Services Authority, have been appointed as the Fund Manager.

Spark is a leading early stage venture capital fund manager. It manages £190 million on behalf of leading UK universities, major institutional investors and two quoted venture capital trusts. In addition to Lachesis Spark also manages the Isis College Fund on behalf of Oxford University and 27 Oxford Colleges.

Spark invests in entrepreneurs to create dynamic businesses in the technology, media, telecoms and healthcare and life sciences sectors. As well as capital, it brings a wealth of experience of developing high growth companies from early stage through to IPO or trade sale, adding value to its investments through active support and strategic direction.
