A breakthrough hand-held device which could detect the warning signs of heart disease and stroke, could soon be a reality thanks to a £75,000 investment from NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts), the organisation dedicated to supporting innovators and improving the climate for creativity in the UK. The news was released by NESTA.

Critical Pharmaceuticals has become the latest company to move into innovation centre BioCity after attracting £750,000 from venture capitalists. University of Nottingham scientists formed Critical Pharmaceuticals to develop an improved way of treating patients with anaemia, growth disorders, cancer and multiple sclerosis.
